Earrings we buy
Drop Earrings
Drop earrings are also known as “dangle earrings.” Each one either slightly or drastically drops below the front part of the earlobe. Drop earrings can greatly vary in design and size.
French Wire Earrings
French wire earring backs incorporate a wire that has been curved, which connects to the front of the earring. Essentially there is nothing more than a curve in the earring wire that keeps the entire earring from sliding off. Only drop earrings can implement this type of earring backing.
Friction Earrings
Friction earring backs are also known as “butterfly backs.” They are the most prevalent type found in these jewelry accessories. These backs simply implement a basic push and pull technology. Studs, hoops, and drop earrings can all implement this type of earring backing.
Hoop Earrings
Hoop earrings typically maintain a circular form. A single piece of metal is shaped to pass through the earlobe, close behind the ear, and hang below the earlobe. Hoop earrings can greatly vary in design and size.
Latch Back Earrings
Latch earring backs incorporate one of two closure designs. Either there is a notch for a hinged post to lock into, or there is a hole for an immobile post to glide into. Mainly, hoop earrings implement this type of earring backing.
Lever Back Earrings
Lever earring backs incorporate a hinge lever behind the earlobe that opens and closes against a curved wire connected to the front of the earring. Generally, only drop earrings can implement this type of earring backing.
Push On Earrings
Push-on-screw-off earring backs are more complicated than friction backs, however they are more simple than screw-on-screw-off backs. These earring backs combine push on technology with the screw off element. Both studs and drop earrings can generally implement this type of earring backing.
Screw On Earrings
Screw-on-screw-off earring backs are generally considered to be an earring fastener for older style jewelry accessories. They are more complicated than both friction backs and push-on-screw-off backs. These earring backs combine screw on technology with the screw off element. Both studs and drop earrings can generally implement this type of earring backing.
Stud Earrings
Diamond stud earrings are also known as “solitaire earrings.” A single diamond is fastened into the earring’s main setting which is connected directly to a straight post with solder. Each one is held in place with a earring back that prevents the stud from sliding off. Stud earrings can greatly vary in design and size.
