Each coin contains one troy ounce of 99.99% pure gold and features the iconic design from the Indian Head nickel, also known as the “Buffalo nickel.”
The obverse of the coin depicts a profile portrait of a Native American man, sculpted by James Earle Fraser. The reverse features an American bison, or buffalo, standing on a mound of dirt, also designed by Fraser. The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed to the right of the Native American portrait, while the weight and purity are inscribed on the reverse.
